Let’s meet at Cabinet Mountain Brewing Company to drink beers and discuss literature.
Lincoln County Public Libraries and Cabinet Mountain Brewing Company are partnering to create a fun way to spend your Saturday afternoons during these upcoming chilly months. The second Saturday of every month we will be meeting at CMBC at 2
pm to drink delicious craft beers and discuss popular literature with friends.

January 12th – “Educated: A Memoir” by Tara Westover

Born to survivalists in the mountains of Idaho, Tara Westover was seventeen the first time she set foot in a classroom. Her family was so isolated from society that there was no one to ensure the children were educated. When another brother got himself into college, Tara decided to try a new kind of life. Her quest for knowledge transformed her, taking her over oceans and across continents, to Harvard and to Cambridge University. Only then would she wonder if she’d traveled too far, if there was still a way home.

February 9th – “Before We Were Yours” by Lisa Wingate

Based on one of American’s most notorious real-life scandals- in which Georgia Tann, director of a Memphis-based adoption organization, kidnapped and sold poor children to wealthy families all over the country- Lisa Wingate’s riveting, wrenching and ultimately uplifting tale reminds us how, even though the paths we take can lead to many places, the heart never forgets where we belong.

March 9th – “Where the Crawdad Sing” by Delia Owens

Perfect for fans of Barbara Kingsolver and Karen Russell, Where the Crawdads Sing is at once an exquisite ode to the natural world, a heartbreaking coming-of-age story, and a surprising tale of possible murder. Owen reminds is that we are forever shaped by the children we once were, and that we are all subject to the beautiful and violent secrets that nature keeps.
