Description: This month’s discussion Nickel and Dimed: On (Not) Getting By in America by Barbara Ehrenreich.  Inspired by welfare reform of the late 1990s, Ehrenreich gave life in the poor and working class a try. Leaving behind a comfortable middle class life, she accepted whatever job she could find and tried to make ends meet. She discovers that no job can truly be considered “unskilled,” that a job is not necessarily a ticket out of poverty, and that generosity can be found in any economic class. One of the most frequently challenged books in recent years, Nickel and Dimed presents a controversial look at poverty in America. Refreshments will be served. read is Super Sad True Love Story. It includes a May-December love story, a dystopic vision of the future, and much more.
